Interior design and home staging are vital components in selling high-end real estate, but homeowners often overlook the benefit to having interior designers provide home staging services using your existing decor. In today’s economy it seems that nothing is more important to us than our homes. Not only is it one of the greatest investments one can make, it is also a place where to find peace, comfort and happiness. That said, many of us spend more time thinking about what shoes to wear tomorrow than about interior design.

Home Staging – Add Value Without Spending A Lot

Even if you don’t have thousands to spend on a complete redecoration of your home, interior designers and home staging experts can help you create an atmosphere for your home that is truly reflective of your unique sense of style. It is often not necessary to throw away much of what you own and start over…simply taking a new perspective on home staging can provide a much needed refresher for a stale room.

Interior Designers = Staging Experts

Professional home staging from an interior designer can make the best of what you already have, adding simple accessories and conversation pieces that shine new light on the decor pieces you may already in your home. While many people think of interior designers only when taking on a major project, like redecorating and entire home, don’t underestimate the potential value of enlisting the help of a professional designer to spruce up your existing decor.

I read somewhere before to not mix the two up. Interior Designers and home stagers. Interior designers take what you have and add to it. While home stagers take what you have and make it work in preparation for selling your home does they not?
I don’t think anyone would want to hire an interior designer just to turn around and sell their home. They would hire someone who deals with home staging right?

There are many interior designers that partner with local real estate agents to provide home staging services. Because the skill set of an interior designer and home stager are so similar, it only makes sense that interior designers would provide the additional service of home staging. It is important to realize that hiring someone who offers only interior design services might not be wise, but understand that many interior designers offer home staging services in addition to traditional comprehensive interior design services.

Home stagers don’t simply take what you have and reorganize it. They often use rented or leased furnishings to properly stage your home. Sometimes they use your existing furnishings, sometimes they don’t…it all depends on what furnishings you have that fit into the design scheme decided upon in the staging efforts.
